Hey guys, I am really excited about today’s review. There are a lot of things I want to share with you all about this Xiaomi 14. Without any doubt, after using this phone, I feel like for Xiaomi’s smartphone, I use this statement: it’s a good camera phone where you get decent results when you take photos.

But there’s also a great camera phone that compels you to take photos with it, and you know fantastic output will come. As you read the review, you’ll start to realize what I’m talking about. Now, let’s talk about the design.

So, I value sharing the camera experience first, but I’d like to start with the design because that’s the most basic thing people consider: comfort. Look, this phone excels in this aspect. Obviously, the specialty of a compact phone is that it doesn’t feel heavy in your pocket; it feels as if nothing bulky is there.

This is a point of comfort that I found sorted in this phone, and don’t take this lightly. It didn’t feel at all that the phone was cumbersome or causing stress in taking photos. This peace of mind I’m talking about. Regarding other features, the fingerprint scanner, according to me, works well, and the haptic feedback feels tight.

Typing and other experiences were good, and the stereo speakers are loud and clear with this phone. So, in terms of design, it’s a simple thing: this is a compact, normal phone, but it excels in comfort.

One thing about this phone is definitely not normal, and that’s the camera. In fact, the setup with a 50-megapixel camera is doing a great job. As I said at the beginning, this phone actually compels you to take photos. And you can see how fantastic the photos are.

Because the kind of photos you get helps a lot in processing, making it look good, and the biggest thing I want to emphasize a bit more is the portrait mode of this phone.

If I show you the photos taken with this phone and if you carefully look at the blur quality, or the cutout, or even the color science, many people feel that such photos cannot be taken from a phone.

But actually, this phone is capable of doing this. Here fantastic details are coming, and because this is an expensive phone, I always test one thing: how are all the lenses consistent or not. So, yes, it’s performing consistently.

Talking about selfies, there’s a 32-megapixel front camera in this phone, and I’ve always told you on this channel that it’s now better to call it a better flagship phone. But the most shocking part for me during testing this phone was everyone knows Android’s video is not always the best, and those who compare and see, and I think I don’t need to tell you how it is.

Battery

Before discussing battery backup, let me give you a reference point. This phone has a 4610 mAh battery. Additionally, it supports 90W wired charging and also has support for 50W wireless charging, which are cool standards.

Considering the price of around 70,000, these specs are commendable. Now, let me show you some screenshots of the battery backup. If I use this phone normally, I get around 6.5 to 7 hours of screen-on time (SOT), which is good for a compact phone.

The maximum screen-on time this phone has given me is 8 hours and 43 minutes, which is an excellent number. In a heavy usage scenario, like when I use the camera extensively or have heavy usage, I get around 52 hours of screen-on time.

This is again quite good considering the size of the phone. However, this debate could also be about the 90W charging, which can create a complete scenario compared to the competition.

But yes, fast charging is quite good, and if we talk about idle drain, I’ve observed it stays around 3% overnight without using the phone. So, battery performance in short is very satisfactory to me. Now, let’s talk about heating.

Performance

Let’s talk about performance because here too, there are different experiences. First of all, it’s using a flagship processor, the Snapdragon 7 series, which is a good processor. But the main question that might come to anyone’s mind is how does a small phone manage heating? Is there throttling or not? That’s an important question.

Look, performance knows how we can address it. If the phone is bringing correct scores in benchmarks, it means the processor’s potential is being utilized. And no doubt, all the scores I’m showing you are very good compared to flagship phones.

So, after looking at these benchmarks, one thing becomes very clear: performance is not restricted; it’s being used to its full potential.

Secondly, let’s talk about CPU throttling. Here, one thing becomes clear that when the processor is being used to its full potential, it doesn’t throttle performance after heating. So, bringing this feature to a compact phone is very impressive to me.
