Samsung Launching New OLED Models in Expanded Odyssey Gaming Monitor: The new models are the Odyssey OLED G8, Odyssey OLED G6, and the updated Odyssey OLED G9.

Today, Samsung Electronics announced new Odyssey OLED gaming monitors that will be launched at CES(r) 2024, the biggest technology event, produced and owned by the Consumer Technology Association(r) (CTA), located in Las Vegas next week.

The latest OLED models provide the clarity and performance consumers seek out on their screens and include:

  • The OLED G9.
  • Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD model).
  • The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model).
  • The Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model).

Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49″ ultra-wide gaming monitor that is curved and equipped with DQHD (5,120 1,440) resolution with an aspect ratio of 32:9 and other features that have been upgraded. 

The Odyssey OLED G8 is the first flat 32″ Samsung OLED gaming monitor sporting 4K UHD (3,840 2,160) resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:9. Both monitors come with a 240Hz refresh rate as well as 0.03ms GTG response speed. 

The Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27″ QHD (2,560 1440 x 2,560) monitor with an aspect ratio of 16:9, 360Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms GTG response time.

“Along with the genres of games, the gaming platforms are becoming more varied,” said Hoon Chung, the executive vice president of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

The three models are all equipped with OLED Glare-Free technology, which minimizes reflections from light. 

This allows for the best viewing experience with no additional equipment. 

Users can enjoy games with consistent colors and brightness in almost any lighting condition.

In conjunction with VESA DisplayHDR(tm) True Black 400, The monitors offer stunning details and vibrant colors that are independent of the game or the content being displayed. 

They also are compatible with AMD FreeSync(TM) Premium Pro for extremely smooth, very low latency HDR gaming.

These three monitors offer extensive physical connectivity, including the addition of two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub, and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. 

The users will also have better ease of use and comfort by having VESA mount two compatibilities as well as a height-adjustable stand (HAS), which comes with tilt, swivel, and pivot three controls.

Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 are now available with Multi Control. 

This new feature offers seamless device connectivity to provide a better, more efficient multi-device experience. 

Multi Control lets users effortlessly transfer text and images across their Samsung monitor as well as other Samsung devices, including your Galaxy Book, tablet, or phone, for a smoother and faster work experience with their keyboard and mouse.

Furthermore, the Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 also come with Samsung’s SmartThings Hub. 

With the integrated hub, users are able to connect to a variety of IoT gadgets that work with Matter and the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) for device control. 

If you want to switch between play and work, The Odyssey OLED G9 and the Odyssey OLED G8 monitors can be used as complete entertainment hubs. 

Samsung’s Smart TV platform and Samsung Gaming Hub offer access to cloud streaming and gaming services without downloading storage limitations or the requirement to have a PC or console. 6

For the first time, Samsung has introduced new flat OLED choices to the Odyssey lineup, as well as an aspect ratio of 16:9 to both the Odyssey OLED G8 and the Odyssey OLED G6.
