After having tested a variety of Android phones over the last year, I am confident that none comes as fluid as MIUI provides in Xiaomi 13 Pro. Xiaomi 13 Pro. Surprised? I was, too, when I first tried the skin on Xiaomi 13 Pro for the first time.

On low-end telephones, there is a slimmed-down version with a less slick interface and a few sluggish animations that manage to stumble.

On the other hand, when you look at the Xiaomi 13 Pro, it’s silky smooth. Not only is it silky smooth, but you’ll be hard-pressed to spot lags in the user interface, regardless of what you do to the phone.

However, it achieves this even using many resources and iOS-style animated scenes. You can’t see animations in any other Android Skins. Just after I believed that Xiaomi was done with fluidity came HyperOS.

The animations I used to call “fancy” were pumped up a bit. Xiaomi changed various elements throughout the UI to make it appear more vibrant and vibrant than before.

Many Android designs “borrowed” the iOS skins iOS; however, Xiaomi is known for blatantly replicating Apple sometimes. There are a lot of similarities.
Although MIUI’s Control Panel within MIUI already resembles iOS, HyperOS takes it one step further by removing the labels on the tiles.

The similarities with iOS are maintained with the latest customization options for the lock screen. HyperOS has three different styles available: Classic, Magazine, and Rhombus. Classic shows the date, time and the weather.
Effortless Lock Screen Customization
Magazine lets you display your text nicely and in large. You can always put the words you’d like in the center of your screen by pressing the long button.
Revamped App Designs and Font Customization
These screen sizes can be used on the constantly-on display, which allows you to have a smooth transition each time you unlock.
I believe it’s the best way to take advantage of customization for the lock screen accessible on every Android skin.

Streamlined Personalization with HyperOS
It allows you to refresh your lock screen very quickly – just a few taps to completely alter the appearance whenever you are bored. Xiaomi has nailed it with easy personalization.
App Redesigns and Font Customization
Some apps were redesigned, such as those for the Weather, Calculator, and File Manager apps. The Weather app is now more user-friendly, has improved readability, and has additional details similar to Real Feel.
Modernizing File Manager and Customizing Fonts
In addition, the File Manager was not updated in several years and looked old; however, it’s finally aligned with the system’s UI, even though it could be faster to start for some reason. I love the blurred transparency of the bottom tabs of these applications.
Xiaomi Joins Font Customization Trend
Xiaomi has also joined in the trend of customizing fonts with Mi Sans, which goes quite well with the other interface elements. It’s more curly than Roboto; however, it’s more contemporary.
Interface Refresh: Icons and Settings
The icons for the home screen have also been refreshed – the new iconography is much more in-depth. The icons for settings have been modified, too.
Centralized Personalization Pages in HyperOS
My favorite change is the brand-new specific Wallpaper and personalization pages. It brings all personalization options in one place rather than scattering them everywhere.
Addressing MIUI Challenges
In the past, pressing “Wallpaper” would launch the horrible Themes application, but it’s no longer the case.
Persistent MIUI Issues
A few of my most significant MIUI complaints are still there, but. The shortcut menu in the app has been revamped, but you cannot drag shortcuts onto the main screen.
Challenges in Notification Design
Notifications need to be fixed design-wise. The only option to alter the shape of icons is to use the low-quality Theme store. It’s a shame, considering most Android skins come with built-in options for this.

Mixed Application Ecosystem: Google and HyperOS
My biggest issue is that Xiaomi continues to hold onto Google applications instead of completely changing to HyperOS apps as the company does in China to provide a better experience.
Navigating a Disconnected App Ecosystem
Instead, you’ll get a messy mix of Google and HyperOS applications that feel disconnected. I would have liked to switch groups to join the HyperOS ecosystem.
Managing App Quality with HyperOS
Still, since the app’s mediocre quality, it was necessary to disable or remove (HyperOS allows for that, however, which is a relief) many of them and use Google’s well-rounded ecosystem of apps.

HyperOS Rollout and Eligibility
Currently, just one phone, the Xiaomi 13 Pro in India, runs HyperOS with an initial rollout. Still, plans will roll it out on those with the Pad 6 soon.

Registering for HyperOS is accessible for any smartphone that runs Android 12 or higher, and it is eligible for HyperOS and Android 14, with some limitations.
Universal Improvements with HyperOS
All the improvements Xiaomi promised for HyperOS could mean they’ll restrict software based on price levels. The smoothness and features must be the same across all versions.
